Its stable frictional characteristics help eliminate excessive brake noise and vibration. Its non-slip friction properties are designed to prevent clutch slippage, which can cause glazing or friction-surface deposits and material degradation. Powershift Transmission Fluid is formulated to deliver responsive yet smooth clutch engagements, excellent power transmission through clutches and synchronizers and superior hydraulic fluid performance.

Superior High- and Low-Temperature Performance

In high temperatures, Amsoil Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid effectively protects components from wear. Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid functions as a heat-transfer fluid and helps cool hot-running equipment. Installation

Amsoil Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid is fully compatible with other TO-4 fluids used in powershift applications. To install Amsoil Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid, drain the fluid in the system, replace the filter (if equipped) and install the appropriate viscosity of Powershift Transmission Fluid.

Service Life

Amsoil Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid provides extended service life beyond conventional petroleum fluids if Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid is kept free of dirt and moisture. Oil analysis is recommended if extending service intervals beyond equipment manufacturer recommendations.

Amsoil Synthetic Powershift Transmission Fluid may be used up to 60,000 miles or one year (whichever comes first) in CD-50 manual transmission applications or as specified by the OEM.

Resists Wear

Amsoil Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil’s synthetic base oils withstand the pressures of high-load, high-torque applications. As a result, it resists viscosity loss due to mechanical shear to provide a durable lubricating fluid film for increased wear resistance and longer transmission life.

To prove its effectiveness, Amsoil installed SAE 50 Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil in line-haul trucks and placed them into real-world service. After more than 500,000 miles, a transmission was disassembled and inspected by a calibrated ASTM rater. Results reveal Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil provided outstanding wear protection in all critical components (see images).

Inhibits Foam

Churning gears introduce air into the fluid, causing foam. When bubbles between gear surfaces collapse, metal-to-metal contact and increased wear result. Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil contains foam inhibitors to ensure formation of a strong lubricating film and excellent wear protection.

Seal Friendly

Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil is compatible with seals to help prevent leaks and extend seal life.

It fights wear and viscosity loss during continuous, severe-service operation, maximizing mower speed and operability. Unlike motor oils, Synthetic Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid is purpose-built to withstand the unique demands of hydrostatic transmissions. It lasts up to 2X original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations, helping professionals save money and reduce downtime.

Maximizes Mower Speed & Responsiveness

In many zero-turn mowers, oil pressure drives the wheel motors. Fluid that fails to protect against wear can cause the tight tolerances in the wheel motors to widen, which reduces oil pressure and erodes speed and responsiveness. Fluid that thins at high temperatures can have the same effect. AMSOIL Synthetic Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid contains high levels of zinc-based anti-wear additives to help maintain those tight tolerances, while its synthetic base oils naturally resist viscosity loss in extreme heat. Commercial-Grade Wear Protection

Transmission fluid must form a thick, durable film on gear teeth and other components to guard against metal-to-metal contact and wear. The mechanical action of meshing gear teeth, however, can tear apart – or shear – the molecular structure of the fluid, leading to viscosity loss. High heat can also cause the fluid to thin. The thinner fluid can fail to protect against wear, reducing mower life and increasing maintenance costs. AMSOIL Synthetic Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid’s naturally tough synthetic base oils resist viscosity loss due to shear and high heat, promoting the formation of a durable sacrificial anti-wear film on components that helps extend mower life.

Maintains Cleanliness

High ambient temperatures, combined with hydrostatic transmission temperatures that can exceed 230ºF, cause some conventional fluids to break down and form harmful deposits. Compatibility

AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid is compatible with other synthetic and conventional motor oils and transmission fluids. Mixing AMSOIL oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil’s life expectancy and reduce its performance benefits.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL transmission fluids.
